Eucalyptus essential oil – Relaxing, refreshing and antiseptic
Essential eucalyptus oil has a fresh, cooling and invigorating scent. The multi-purpose essential oil helps relieve congestion and respiratory symptoms. Add a few drops of the essential oil in the diffuser to refresh the room air, to the sauna or bath water and let the aromas spread in the air. The aromas calm and relax the mind, so the eucalyptus fragrance is suitable for scenting a body oil when first mixed with a skin oil. Due to its relaxing characteristics, eucalyptus essential oil is excellently suited for massaging and aromatherapy.
Eucalyptus oil applications:
DIY eucalyptus shower gel. A pure and fresh shower gel can be made with eucalyptus essential oil and a neutral shower gel. Add 6-8 drops of eucalyptus essential oil in a handful of shower gel. The fragrant aromas open up the mind and relax the entire body.
DIY eucalyptus foot bath. It is easy to make a cooling and disinfecting foot bath. Add 3-5 drops of eucalyptus essential oil in a decilitre of Epsom salt. Fill a bowl suitable for a foot bath with warm water, and pour the bath salt in the water. Let it take effect for 10-15 minutes.
Sauna steams. Essential eucalyptus oil is also suitable to be added in the water to be thrown on the sauna stove. Add 1-2 drops of oil in a scoopful of water and throw it directly on the stove. The fragrance relaxes the mind and relieves muscle tension.
Diffuser, humidifier and aroma lamp. Eucalyptus essential oil effectively disinfects the room air and refreshes the home, summer cottage or even the boat or car. Add a decilitre of water and 20 drops of essential oil in a spray bottle. Spray directly in the room air or on bed linen.
Antiseptic eucalyptus is also suitable for aroma diffusers or humidifiers. Add the oil according to the diffuser’s or aroma lamp’s instructions, or approximately 3-5 drops in a decilitre of water.
DIY body oil. You can add a few drops of essential oil in neutral and fragrance-free skin oil (e.g. SEES No. 3 Clean) and use it to moisturise the entire body without chemicals. Add eucalyptus oil to a skin oil according to the following ratio: two drops of essential oil in a tablespoon (15 ml) of skin oil.
Warning:
Toxic if swallowed. As with other essential oils, eucalyptus is a strong natural product and its use should be started carefully with small quantities. Do not apply in the area of the eyes, on broken skin or mucous membranes. Keep out of reach of children. May produce an allergic reaction.
